Where do I belong?

Ever asked yourself where do I fit in this world? where do I belong?

Our world has its very own cliques, so many different of them, some you can join depending on your status, while others cannot be joined by just anyone. These are the elite, the wealthy families who control the world, they make the decisions behind the scenes, you never see them, but they are the ones calling the shots! The next class of wealthy business men and women can be joined by anyone, you just have to work hard, make some billions and the world will recognise you as a somebody. You might even feature on the cover of a magazine wearing an expensive suit, looking all sharp, you get recognition after you’ve made money, after working extra hard! The middle class as they call us, are people who are generally okay, not billionaires or millionaires, but people who are comfortable. They aren’t ‘as wealthy’ but these category is the one that has the biggest group all over the world. Finally we have people who live in the slums, living one day at a time trying to make it, street families people who live in the streets, homeless, no where to put their head on to when night comes.

The social class has always being there from time memorial, and in the old days it was even worse because the class was chosen by your skin colour, the dark people (africans) were taken as slaves for the whites, who were wealthy. They were bought as slaves in their african countries and transported all the way to the European countries where they had to work hard, barely surviving. Some didn’t make it through the ocean travel they fell sick and died way before they could reach their destination. I thank God that this slave trade ended, otherwise, there wouldn’t be any african nations remaining. We all work hard to put food on the table, we work hard to enhance our lives and to be comfortable! To pay our bills, taxes, school fees and much much more, that we barely have enough to save for a holiday.

God is a supreme being, He is powerful and mighty and sometimes we as His children might feel inferior or even afraid of Him. We might be small or feel like the ant in the picture, surrounded by big rocks, the difference between us and the ant is that, the ant won’t jump from rock to rock, but rather it will walk. It walks from one rock to the other, I think we can learn from this little ant, we should not be afraid of climbing a big or small rock, but rather we should know that in whatever rocks that we climb, God will always be with us. Isaiah 40:11 He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young. Yes God is supreme, yes He is powerful and mighty, yet He is gentle like a shepherd who gathers His lambs in His arms. Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord, you God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

What rocks are surrounding you? are they big or small? do you feel like you don’t fit in anywhere? like your own your own, your different from the rest? When we come to Christ we become new creatures, we don’t hold or have any social class in Him, we are all one, we are all the same. I like that! that God doesn’t see any of us any different from the other, can you imagine if there was ‘class’ in God? we wouldn’t be able to trust Him because He wouldn’t have been different from the world. But praise be unto the Lord, for God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change His mind Numbers 23:19. Man changes his mind but our God doesn’t, what He said from the beginning still stands! Malachi 3:6 “I the Lord do not change.”

Our world categorises and classifies us, but God doesn’t! Therefore if you feel that you don’t belong anywhere, come to Jesus He is our Shepherd, He holds all of us in His arms. He is gentle yet powerful, He won’t judge you, His arms are wide open and He is reaching out to you, to all of us. If you let Him in, it will be one of the best decisions you ever made, so today if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart! You don’t need to belong to the world, you need to belong to Jesus!

Blessings!!
