Madaraka day which is celebrated on 1st June, commemorates the day that Kenya attained internal self-rule in 1963, preceding full independence from the United Kingdom on 12 December 1963. As a country we attained Independence from colonial rule on 12th December, 1963, but we did not attain self-rule until June 1, Five (5) months down the line. When you get saved, Christ will not make you wait five (5) months, to make you a child of God, HE does it immediately.
As Kenyans are celebrating this great day, I have but a simple question, are you still being colonised? who has colonised you? are you still being held in captivity by your sins? Well you don’t have to be anymore, come to Jesus Christ, confess your sins to Him and He will forgive you from all unrighteousness. As our country celebrates this day, there is a greater celebration when you know that your name is written in the Book of Life, there is celebration and Joy in knowing that the Lord of all the earth, knows you, lives in you and has saved you.
We celebrate so many things every other day, be it birthdays, anniversaries, mother’s day, father’s day and so many others that are in our calendars. A great day and a great celebration is coming, one that the whole world will be there, no one will miss it, no one will be late, and that is “Judgement Day.” On this day everyone will be judged, those whose names are written in the Lambs Book of Life will go straight to Heaven, while those whose names aren’t written in the Book of Life, will be thrown into the lake burning with sulphur and brimstone, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. In whatever celebrations that you encounter or go through everyday, are you saved? does Christ live in you? are you a child of God? This is the most important celebration in the life of every human being, this should be a day that is celebrated, when we know that our names are written in the BOOK OF LIFE!. That is the real joy, that is the real truth, that is the real DEAL!!!
Well I know who I am, I am a child of the MOST HIGH GOD, I am fearfully and wonderfully made, what about you? have you made that choice? have you made that decision? Don’t wait any further, make your choice today! Receive Christ as your Lord and Saviour and start living a life full of LIFE!!
