Throw back Thursday is what they call it, where by you post pictures that were taken a while back or things that happened in the past. Well I don’t have the ‘actual’ pictures of Jesus but I do know the story.

And so the Lord sent His Angel to Joseph to basically let him know that the child whom Mary was carrying was conceived by the Holy Spirit of God, that Mary will give birth to a son and they were to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins Matthew 1:18-21 From there, Joseph was now satisfied and believed that Mary was telling the truth in the first place. I tell you what, men always like to be assured of things!
All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” – which means “God with us.” Matthew 1:22-23 So Joseph took Mary in as his wife, But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
The Magi (wise men) from the east came to Jerusalem looking the King of the Jews, they had been following a star in the east and they had come to worship Him. When King Herod heard this he was disturb (off course he would, he was the king and didn’t want to be dethroned secretly), he called the Magi secretly to get information from them, He sent then to Bethlehem to look for the child and report to him, so that he too may worship him. The Magi went on their way, guided by the star, until it stopped where the child was, they found baby Jesus and they bowed down and worshipped Him. Bringing him gifts of gold, incense and myrrh. After this, they were warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, and so they returned to their country by another route.
After this, the angle of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream telling him to take the child together with his mother and escape to Egypt, for Herod was planning to look for the child and kill him. Joseph did exactly as he was shown in the dream and they escaped to Egypt. When King Herod realised that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious and ordered all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were 2 years and younger to be killed. The plan of the devil using the King was also outwitted by the Lord who sent His angle way before and Jesus was taken to Egypt.
The first step to God’s perfect plan accomplished, the Saviour is born. Today remember that some many years back, the Saviour of the world came into our world, conceived through the Holy Spirit, born like a child, grew up like one of us, walked with us so that we could have life everlasting! That’s like the best Throwback ever!
