When Moab, Ammon came against Jehoshaphat to battle, He seeked the Lord and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And all Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones, their wives and children and the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and He said 2Chronicles 20:15 “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. It goes on to say in verse 17 “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.”

The story goes on to say how when they were going to battle, the King appointed singers who would sing praises to the Lord and praise Him for the splendour of His Holiness, saying “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.” It so happened that the Lord set their enemies to fight against themselves, killing and destroying one another. When Judah came to the battle field, all they found were dead bodies, they did not have to fight, they did not loose any of their soldiers, the LORD had done it for them, the LORD had destroyed their enemies. This particular passage really blessed my heart, sometimes we fight battles, which we didn’t have to fight on our own. Sometimes we look at the giant situation in our lives and think to ourselves, “how on earth am I going to defeat that.?” Not realising that we don’t have to fight the battles ourselves or on our own, we only need to first pray, then sing praises to the LORD, for He has already done it for us.
What giant are you facing today? What is this vast army before you that has even joined forces with others to finish you? The Lord God our Father is telling us this morning, “Do not be afraid or discouraged of this vast army, for the battle is not yours but mine.” Now we all know that going to battle when you are not prepared, its like your already dead! However, when an army is well prepared, they have confidence and they have faith that their country will win. It’s the same for us, our enemy is the devil, and everyday he is plotting of ways to finish us so that we can stop spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He plans evil, even though we do not see it in the physical realm, it is happening in the spiritual realm. As a christian, we go to battle with our faith, we won’t fight the battle, but put our faith in God, trusting Him that He will fight for us and deliver us from the hands of the enemy. This morning take up your position, stand firm on the Word of God, after you have prayed and or fasted as led by the Spirit of God, start singing praises to God for the victory which is coming your way. Claim your victory, claim your salvation, claim your healing, see the deliverance the LORD will give you. Your enemies will fight themselves, they will destroy themselves, and you will not have to lift a finger….. you only need to have FAITH in the LORD your GOD! I don’t know about you, but all my trust and hope, I place in His hands, He’s never disappointed me, and am sure He’s not about to start.
Today if your hear His voice, do not harden your heart, but receive Him. Give Him your heart, give Him your life and ALLOW Him to make the changes that are necessary for your growth. Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you, I confess I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and wash me with your precious blood. Write my name in the Book of Life, and rub it in the book of death. From today I confess and receive you as Lord and Saviour over my life, I am your child. In Jesus name Amen.
