I was strolling in the woods and I almost stepped onto the frog pictured above, I only knew it was a frog the minute it jumped up, as it was well hidden and camouflaged in the leaves. When I saw this frog in the leaves, something came into mind…….What is the meaning of camouflage? The english dictionary puts it as “To hide or disguise the presence of (a person, animal, or object) by means of camouflage: to conceal, keep hidden, cover up! Our Generation has become a people full of camouflage, trying to cover up their deeds, so that their true self would not be seen. When in church, your like a church folk, ‘holier than thou attitude,’ your a leader in the local church council, and even when people go to the altar to get saved, you lay your hands on them, praying for their sins to be forgiven, yet your life is full of hypocrisy of the highest order! Immediately you step out of church and get into the office or in the estates, you put on a different face, here people know you as their local drug dealer, your the go to person to everything illegal. Such people have managed to camouflage their lives so that they can blend in every situation and or circumstances. (Please note that it’s good to blend in anywhere) the difference is when your living a life full of lies, pretendenting to be someone your not.
Worship leaders, your standing on the altar, leading the people of God into worshiping their maker and creator. When you get hold of the mic, it sounds like Heaven has come down, you know your ways on how to get the crowd moving and dancing. However, in your heart of hearts, you know very well that you are not right before the Lord, you are living a life of sin, a life full of lies. Your the lady who has been ‘kept’ by a married man, or your the man who is married, yet you have a ‘side chick’, but your hiding in the church, hiding in the worship team, may God help us. Pastors who shepherd the flock on Sunday morning during service, drink alcohol and live an adulterous life from Monday to Saturday, and again, pretend like nothing happened on Sunday. They are living double standard lives, preaching water and drinking wine. Their preaching is more focused on prosperity messages instead of forgiveness of sins. The Bible clearly says in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Most preachers are preaching about ‘all these other things,’ instead of the Kingdom of God. We need to learn about the Kingdom of God, we need to be people who are after God’s own heart, and not God’s wealth. Have you seen the way majority of people will only seek God when in trouble, and immediately things get better, they totally forget that He exists? In others words, what you just did, is you used God for your own selfish needs. Our God on the other hand, is full of mercy and love, he doesn’t judge us, He knows our hearts and see’s right through us. Therefore He also knows when your using Him or when you are truthful. We need to be true to ourselves, not camouflaging or hiding. Remember that God hates the ‘Sin’ and not the ‘Sinner’, therefore we need to stop making people comfortable in their sinful ways, and show them the way and the truth, which is Jesus, in a loving manner!
People who have camouflaged themselves are described in Revelation 3:15-16 it says, “I know your deeds, that your neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because your are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of my mouth. I love the fact that the Bible is always as real as it gets! God tells us we need to take our stand, we shouldn’t be people who are double minded, we shouldn’t be people who have camouflaged themselves, hiding in this world, pretending to be what we are not. If you don’t change your ways, the Bible says our God will spit you out! If your saved, then stay saved, don’t be enslaved by this world, don’t be a people pleaser putting your salvation at risk. Don’t camouflage yourself so that you can do bad things, if you do, you will eventually be exposed, and all your works will come out in the open, no where to hide. If you don’t repent, you will be thrown into the lake of fire, which is the second death. “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:12-13
