When Nehemiah wanted to build the wall of Jerusalem together with a few men, they inspected it, and agreed to start rebuilding its walls. They had opposition from Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem who when they heard about rebuilding mocked and ridiculed them saying “what is this you are doing? “are you rebelling against the king?” But Nehemiah answered him saying “The God of Heaven will give us success. We his servants will start building, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.” Nehemiah 2:19-20
Someone who doesn’t know your journey, will not appreciate your victory.
At this point and time, the Israelites had been through enough, they had gone into exile and their city was in ruins. Nehemiah having known the glory of what Jerusalem used to look like, and how it was, was pained to see his city in ruins. The wall of Jerusalem had been broken down, and its gates had been burned with fire, and so Nehemiah wept on behalf of his great city. So when these three men ridiculed him and what he was doing for his city, yet they had no history of Jerusalem, they knew nothing about what happened and how they got to even go into exile, and so because they didn’t have any clue, they couldn’t share in the joy that Nehemiah had when he started rebuilding its walls.

People who don’t know your journey, where you’ve been, where your going will never appreciate it, will talk ill of you and will even try to pull you down and discourage you. However, do not be part of their wickedness! He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it, for His name’s Glory In Jesus name.
