Changing Seasons

Enough has being said about Corona Virus Pandemic and to be honest its reached a point   whereby, I am so tired of all the negative news that keeps coming in from all sides, it’s actually so depressing. Every single day, every single minute the numbers keep growing and growing and to be honest, it feels like were in the middle of a really bad nightmare and someone needs to shake us up so that we would wake up! Right now were seeing the numbers of mental health concerns hit a sky high with, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) even for people who never had it before, anxiety attacks, heart palpitations, and depression all on the rise.

Everyday were being reminded to wash our hands with soap and water, sanitise with an alcohol based sanitiser, keep social distance, cough into your elbow! all these we keep on doing but still the numbers keep rising! So the big question comes in, WHY? Why did this virus come into the world and put everything to a complete standstill? The world as we know it has completely stalled. From the pulpit, to sports, entertainment, education and world economies have all come down! Why has this virus killed so many people? Why is it moving faster than even the speed of wind so to speak? Then there is this question that most people are asking, where is GOD? Why has He allowed so many people to die? If He is God and all powerful why can’t He contain this pandemic and save the lives of many people around the world? Why?

Well bottom line is this…Nothing and I mean nothing catches God by surprise. He didn’t just get some BREAKING NEWS from the angels, like “Hey Master, there’s a virus that has come onto the earth and its spreading so fast and killing your people.” He knew it was coming, and He allowed it to come in, what we need to ask ourselves is why did He allow it?

You see all through the Bible we see people who went through tough times and persecution that I sometimes ask myself, if we were in those days, would we have made it? Joseph was sold by his own brothers and taken into a foreign land, was sold as a slave, went into prison, but still God had a plan. He knew a famine would be coming, and so he sent Joseph ahead of his family, in order to protect them from death, and with that, the children of Israel multiplied in Egypt and were given Goshen, the best land in Egypt.

Moses was to be killed as a young child, but God knew the plans of Pharaoh and Moses was placed in a basket and this little prince rode through the river Nile until he reached the kings palace and Pharaohs daughter saw Moses and fell in love with him and took him in as her own. It is through Moses that God saved and removed the children of Israel from Egypt and into freedom. However, the children of Israel were in the desert for 400 years! now we all have seen pictures of how the desert looks like, but still, even while they were there, God was with them, providing manna from Heaven, water from a rock and none of them starved because they lacked food or water. Yes they complained about anything and everything, but still, to those who were faithful, they got to see the promised land.

The story of Job is one that we are all too familiar with, this guy lost everything all in one day! How many of us can be able to bear such amount of pain and anguish? All his children died, all his property and animals were destroyed, but still Job remained faithful, even when his body was attacked with painful scratchy sores he still did not curse God.

Israel, God’s Holy city was attacked many years later and its people were taken into captivity. Daniel, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego are examples of people who even in captivity (tribulation and trial) stood their ground and served God no matter what was ahead of them. Daniel was thrown into the Lion’s den, God would have chosen to make him not go through that, but guess what, even in the lions den, God was with Daniel and the hungry lions did not eat him up. The three Hebrew men, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego refused to bow down to the golden image that king Nebuchadnezzer had made, and the king was furious and ordered that the furnace be heated up ten times hotter, that even when the soldiers were throwing the three men in, they were caught up in the flames and they died. However, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego were not hurt, their clothes nor their hair didn’t get burnt! This is one of the coolest Bible stories showing that God walks with us, even when we are in the middle of a storm. King Nebuchadnezzar saw another man walking with them inside the flames, and he said that this person, looked like the Son of Man.

The times were living in are tough! painful! and we haven’t experienced such a world phenomena in our times. Our loved ones have died due to this disease, Jobs have being lost, and those working from home are taking a pay cut. Hotels and restaurants have closed, planes are all packed on the run way, economies have being hit and billions of cash has being lost! All because of a virus called Corona.

But guess what God is a master planner, I call Him, the greatest grand master planner there ever lived, and will ever be! He designed the end from the beginning, and even in the garden of Eden when the devil thought he had destroyed God’s plan, he had absolutely no idea what was coming to him. God had already devised a plan of sending His own Son to come in the form of a man and become the ultimate sacrifice for mankind.  So why are we getting all bummed out with everything that is happening around us? yet the Bible tells us to cast all our cares upon Him for He cares for us? Well, the human nature doesn’t operate as God does, but still God has told us to look up to Him, to look above, to have faith. From where does our help come from? our help comes from the Lord, maker of Heaven and earth.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be your name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is done in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Even in these tough times, may we pray that His Will, will be done on Earth and may we not loose sight of the promises that He’s promised us and eternal life that awaits those who endure and are faithful to the very end!

God promised Abraham that He would make him into a great nation, that his name will be great and he will be a blessing. All through the Bible we see God introducing Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, meaning God keeps His Word and His promises from generation to generation. All through the Bible we see people that God partnered with in order to bring forth His Word and His message.

Ezekiel prophesied about the future and specifically end times, Daniel too saw visions of things that were to take place, the Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation, an apocalyptic book that has so many people scared to read it and Isaiah wrote about Jesus even before Jesus came, why? because Gods word cannot and will not go back to Him empty handed, it has to accomplish that which He has said it will. So is corona Gods plan? absolutely not, but He has allowed it to come in!

God operates on principles and in the garden of Eden, He gave all dominion to man, meaning even He operates through men, as we have seen it clearly throughout the Bible. The opposite is also true, satan too operates with man, people who plan evil schemes to destroy Gods people. However we should know by now that God always has a way out, a solution, even when it seems like we’ve reached our end, thats when He’s starting.

Is the world coming to an end? Well eventually it will? when? No one knows, even Jesus Himself doesn’t know only the Father, however, we are called to be keen and observe the times and seasons like the sons of Issachar in the Bible.

Revelation 22:12-16 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practise magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

Beloved, keep the faith!

Blessings!!!
