Foundation

Foundation, the lowest load-bearing part of a building, typically below ground level. Foundation is the base of it all. Well, most women will agree with me that when it comes to the makeup that we put on our faces, the most important of them all is the foundation! You get yourself a good foundation and I can guarantee you that your makeup will most definitely last the whole day long! why? because your base is good, your base is strong & secure, such that anything else that is put on top of it will hold! But what happens when you get yourself some ‘fake foundation,’ truth be told, it cakes and makes our faces look as if we have patches here and there, ladies you know what am talking about! When it comes to makeup, I strongly believe that you should get a good brand, not some cheap quality that will start melting by the time the sun comes up!

Buildings too need a good foundation, this is what will make it stand or fall! the deeper the foundation, the stronger the building will stand tall. What is your foundation? what holds you together? Are you deeply rooted into the world or are you rooted in Christ? Is your foundation built on Jesus who should be our solid rock on which we stand, or is it built on quick sand, like the pleasures of this life, here today and gone tomorrow. How do you build your foundation? How do you get your foundation deeply rooted in the ground? Only through Jesus, the Son of the Living God! Reading His Word, Prayer and fasting, going to church to listen to His Word and living according to His Word, serving the community, the list is endless! There is so much for us to do, we just haven’t realized it.

Imitations of the good quality foundation are very cheap and easily accessible, you don’t need to hustle, however, even if you can get imitations of the original, it can never serve as the original does. Thats why they say cheap is expensive, meaning it will cost you very little but it may leave your face looking like a zombie instead of sleeping beauty! Cheap foundation will lie to you that the building is strong, only to get to the fifth floor for the whole building to come crumbling down! Here you will loose even more, all the money you used to build, plus you will need to start all over again! Why not just do things right? get the right materials to build? get the proper workers to build for you instead of using quacks? I just don’t get why we like shortcuts.

This is exactly what we do with our lives. We build it around quick sand, thinking we are all covered and sorted, while in actual sense everything we are ‘trying to build’ will come tumbling down. For a day is coming when we will leave this world, a time is coming when we will have to face the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and on that day if your foundation was not on Jesus, there will be no negotiating. It will be a matter of, “welcome, thy good and faithful servant,” or it will be “depart from me, I don’t know you.” I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t want my Lord to tell me to depart from Him, but to welcome me home, the one place that we all long to go and live with our Savior.

Honestly speaking, can you imagine God Himself telling you to depart from Him? But guess what? He gave you many chances, He waited patiently for you to give your life to Him, but you thought it was a ‘boring’ life, well now, what you thought was boring, was actually the coolest decision you could have made, but you didn’t and now its too late for things to change. Your fate has being decided, your name is not in the Lamb’s  Book of Life, hence you are thrown into the lake burning with fire and brimstone! I haven’t being to hell, but I sure don’t want to go there, a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, all day everyday for the rest of eternity? No way!

Picture just for one minute and imagine gnashing your teeth because of the pain that your feeling by being burnt! It sounds grossly painful right? but this is what awaits everyone who will reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. On the bright side of it all, those who accepted Him as Lord will live together with Him in Heaven, having our new immortal bodies…. 1Corinthians 15:52 In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. (NIV)

It doesn’t have to be like this, while we still have a chance, while we still have the breadth of life, make the choice to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and start this BEAUTIFUL journey with Him, Its a choice that only you can make for yourself. We are not saved by virtue or extension of our parents, husbands or wives! heck we aren’t even saved just by going to Church alone.

Today, make the decision, pray this prayer and start your journey: – Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you, I confess I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me all of my sins, to come into my heart and live with me. Write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life, I surrender to your Will and to your Power! From this day forward, I live for you. In Jesus Mighty name Amen.

Remember: Christ is enough for you! Everything you need is in Him!
