I was eating a mango fruit the other day and as i got nearer the seed, I realized that there was a small insect which had found its way into the seed. “How did it get there?” my son asked, this really perplexed him very much, because before we cut the mango, it was beautifully whole with no signs of vandalism whatsoever.
The seed is the most important aspect of any fruit, and if the seed is not taken care of properly, then the fruit will have insects from the inside or worse still rotten from the inside. In Luke 8:5-15 Jesus spoke about the parable of the sower, explaining to us how a sower’s seed fell on different grounds; the wayside, on rocky grounds, among thorns and in good soil and out of all these, only the seed that fell in good soil was able to produce good fruit. Ask yourself this question, are you planted in good soil? or is it being chocked by thorns which represents the cares, riches and pleasure of life? are you planted in good soil, or did your seed fall on rocky grounds, which has no roots, knowing all to well that anything that doesn’t have roots dies a natural death! are you planted in good soil or has your seed fallen by the wayside where everyone passes by trampling on everything they see?
This past week on Monday, my whole house smelled like a graveyard, and I mean just that graveyard! We had being having problems with rats infestation and so I bought rat poison that we placed around the house. I kid you not, they started dying and you’d find them all over the place, which was really good news for me. However, one rat died and we didn’t know where it hid, but we knew it was dead because of the smell. It first started with an awkward smell, which was tolerable, but then it got worse by the day until I had to turn my whole house upside down to find where the smell was coming from and get the dead rat out of the house. After a few minutes, I found it and OMG! it was deader than dead, rotten with maggots inside its dead shell, gross, yeah I know! This taught me that we all know what makes us stumble and fall, its a smell to us. It can be tolerable at first, but if we do not deal with it, the stench keeps getting worse and worse by the day.
Everyday I see more and more people focused on perfecting the outer man instead of the inner man. We want the whole world to see that we are good and perfect, yet we are rotting in the inside. if we do not take care of our inner self which is the most important, then it will soon reflect on the outside. The Bible tells us in Mark 7:15 “Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” Anything that we listen to or watch and keep doing, becomes a habit, meaning ‘garbage in, garbage out,’ while on the contrary, if we keep listening to God’s Word, and allowing His seed to be planted into our hearts and mind, then we shall grow and yield good fruits.
Let us not be proud and arrogant thinking that we run the show! we got this! Truth is you might think your running this show, but a time is coming when, if you do not have the Word of God (Jesus) and wouldn’t have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, you will be thrown into the lake of fire! That is written in the Bible, and we all know that every Word written by God must be accomplished, question is will you obey? or will you disobey? Revelation 22:12 “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
What will be your works?
