We all like things when they are brand new, why? I guess its the feeling that we get from new stuff! I recently was at a money exchange shop and after I had done my transaction, I signed on the book, only to realise I was the second person in the new book to sign. I know this may sound weird, but it was really nice to write on a clean book, which wasn’t tattered or dirty, a book that wasn’t coiled up in all the corners, it felt fresh.
Life sometimes makes us old and tattered, both physically and spiritually from all the experiences that we go through, and when people look at us, we are like an old book that has being used over and over again. A book that is full of dirt, coiled up corners, missing pages, a book that has being written with so many different colours of pens, a book that is full and needs a replacement.

When you get saved, you are a new creature, out with the old and in with the new! Yes you might have done some pretty annoying things in life, heck, you might just be hated by everyone around you! However, here you are, forgiven by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Here you are, a new being in Christ. Jesus has given you a chance and opportunity to live life again, but this time, you are not living it by your own self, but rather you are living your life in Christ. You are a new creature in Him, not by your own doing, not by your own might, but by Gods will and purpose. When we choose to live as God wants us to live, then we will fill our books with his goodness, mercy, kindness, self-control, the list is endless! However, it will be a choice that we make, you will not be forced into it, but it shall be by your own free will.
We all love new beginnings, a new house, a new car, new furniture, new clothing, everything about new stuff is amazing, but on the flip side of it all, if we don’t take care of our houses, if we don’t take care of our furniture and keep jumping on them every now and then, then eventually they will break and we won’t have anywhere to sit on! If we don’t wash our clothes from all the dirt, then our clothes will be dirty and smelly; no one will want to come near us! Such is life, when you do bad things, slowly by slowly you soil your clothing, your inner being, your true self! and when you become that nasty person, no one wants to get near you, why? your book is dirty! your book is full, nothing about you is good! But praise be unto Jesus Christ, who loved us even in our sins and died for us. When no one wanted anything to do with you, Jesus still thought you were an amazing person, that’s why He died for you on the cross.
