In Luke 6:45 Jesus said “The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” These are words spoken by Jesus Himself, declaring that what we speak is what is in our hearts. Those of us who do evil, then our hearts are full of evil, but those of us who do good, then their hearts are filled with goodness. Question is who is your master? whom do you serve? Your character will determine whom you serve!
The characteristics of God are good, nothing about Him is bad! but on the flip side of it, we have our enemy the devil, nothing about him is good, nothing about him will ever be good. Life is all about the choices that we make, we can either choose to accept Jesus Christ as our LORD and Saviour, and when we do this, He will come into our hearts, He will live with us, and walk with us. However, when we do not accept Him as LORD and Saviour, we have denied Him the opportunity to guide us through this life!
The saddest thing that we can go through life is not having knowledge and wisdom in the one person that can save us. It is like you have been living a life of someone who is walking dead! they are physically alive, but they are spiritually dead. Each and everyone of us was created by God, meaning we are all children of God! However, when we all come to the age of accountability, we have a choice to make. All through our lives, we will have choices to make, to do good, or to do evil! no one will ever force you to do anything that you do not want to do and that is the fact about life. Therefore, when we ignore Christ, when we ignore His ways, and we accept the evil ways of our enemy the devil, then we automatically reflect evil and out of our hearts everyone around us will see the evil in us! Sad but truth!
When we feed our hearts and our souls with the Word of God, then automatically the Word of God will be seen in our lives. A Mango tree cannot produce oranges or lemon, it will only bear mangoes, the same it is for us, if you are a good tree, then you will bear good fruits in Christ. We cannot bear good fruits, unless we remain in Him, remember Jesus said that He is the vine and we are the branches, if we remain in Him and His word remains in us, then we shall bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit. However, if anyone does not remain in Christ, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned John 15:5-6 When we aren’t in Christ, we wither, we dry up, we don’t get any spiritual nourishment. The Word of God is like water to our bodies and souls, quenching us when we are thirsty.
My prayer today is this, as Moses came down from the mountain and was shining God’s radiance and everyone saw it, may it be the same for all of us, that we shall reflect the word of God in our lives! And when people look at us, they will not see us, but see the reflection of Jesus in our lives. May we be a reflection of God! may we be a reflection of His Word.
