“I can see your heart”

Who can see the heart? who can fathom our thoughts and our thinking? who can look into our eyes and know whether we are lying or not? Who can look at us and see we are happy or not happy? Who? tell me who?

Well there just isn’t a man, but God!

No matter how well you know a person, truth is we still don’t really get to know everything about them. Secrets and more secrets, even in marriage people are still keeping secrets to one another why? Some of thethings that are done in secret and in the dark aren’t pretty at all! Anytime that we do something amazing, we can’t seem to keep our mouths shut and so it finds its way out and everyone will know what happened. However, if it was the total opposite, we don’t want anyone to find out and we try as much as possible to forget it completely.

Why do it if its nasty? why do it if you will regret later! Well I believe that sin is so enticing, so captivating and it keeps drawing us to it. Genesis 3:6-7 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. We see here in Genesis where it all started, that sin was charming and pleasing to the eye and so because she was attracted to it, she fell for the trap. However, immediately after they ate the fruit, they realise their mistakes, they see that they are naked and guilt comes in. That’s exactly what happens to us, before we commit sin, it looks like the most captivating thing on the face of the earth! but immediately that you realise you’ve done something wrong, we are ashamed, we are filled with regrets and at times anger towards ourselves, we fell into the trap once again.

Nobody saw you, but Jesus did! He was right there when you committed adultery and fornicated, He saw you when you stole, He saw you when you lied and kept lying to try and get yourself out of trouble. He saw it all, was He happy about the sin? no He wasn’t! Did He hate you and condemn you? no He didn’t! infact He did the opposite of what you expected Him to do, He came to earth, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, walked this earth and finally died on the cross. For who? YOU He died for you; He came for you! That you may receive forgives, Grace and Mercy.

At times I just sit and wonder of how Gracious and Kind God is and it brings tears to my eyes! Not because I am a woman and I care about everything, but because I know that God’s Word is the Truth to life. Today, this is what He says, “I can see your heart,” I see it all! He doesn’t want us to live a life that is full of condemnation for all the wrongs that we’ve ever made no! He wants us to know that He has given us His guidelines (commandments) and if we follow through all of them, then we will not need to live a life of sin. From the time we were born we have being living with rules, all through childhood to school and these rules help us not to get into trouble. God also set some rules in which we are to follow, they are guidelines to life and it makes Him happy whenever we follow them. Its all a matter of choice, because if we don’t follow the commandments given to us by God, it leads to sin which leads to death!

After the serpent deceives Eve to eat the fruit, he disappears. Am sure he was ecstatic that he had destroyed God’s perfect plan for mankind, little did He know that God had already seen the end from the beginning and He knew all that was coming, that is why He sent His only Son to die for us. What the enemy thought had destroyed mankind, God turned it into good by sending His one and only SON.

Today, the enemy is at it again, trying to make sin as captivating as possible, however God is still with us, His Holy Spirit is at work within us. He sees our hearts, His Spirit tries to warns us not to fall into the traps, but we still fall and our hearts are filled with hurt and guilt for what we’ve done. But guess what? God doesn’t dismiss us, He doesn’t look at us like a gone case, no He doesn’t. He see’s our hearts, He knows when we are lying or not, He sees it all and He says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1 We don’t need to feel condemned, we don’t need to stay in sin, but we need to “Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us” James 4:7

Blessings!!

  1. I always look at my life and every season am in..I always know that am not ever going to forget my mistakes…but I will always learn from them…God knows my heart and I pray that every day of my life I learn to love and live fully under the guidance of the holy spirit..
You know with sin..even you if you have been saved for 20 years..will always come in an enticing form…and as human beings we can’t fight it .but with the holy spirit we are able to discern and ask God to strengthen us.
My prayer is..God forgive me so much..for all my sins..seek my heart and see my desire to live for you always…I can’t change the past..but I pray never to repeat them.
    Thanks ma..
