Water….

Water quenches thirst and makes one full, even if you were thirsty and hungry, just by taking water, your hunger will disappear. Our bodies are made up of 90% water, therefore I imagine that if I were big enough, then I could actually swim in my own body? Water is used for bathing, cooking, washing utensils and washing clothes, with water our animals are able to quench their thirst, in other words, Water is LIFE. Scientists say that the average man can last no more than 3 days without water, though some people have survived without water up to 8 to 10 days. Water flows through the blood carrying oxygen and nutrients to cells and flushing wastes out of our bodies. Water cushions our joints and soft tissues, water helps in digestion and absorption of foods.

The same way that water runs through our bodies nourishing our bones, is the same way that we need to the Holy Spirit of God to nourish our souls. Brian Doerksen sang the song, Holy and Anointed one, but one of the lines that I love is “Your name is like honey on my lips, your Spirit like water to my soul, your Word is a lamp to my feet, Jesus I love you.” Now we all know that honey is sweet, you can even have it on its own and once you lick honey, you want to have more and more. That is exactly how Jesus is, the minute you receive Him and get to know His true persona, then you want more of Him, Jesus is sweet, Jesus is sweeter than the honey comb.

Sometimes we run around through life allowing our hearts and souls to get tired, yet we have a Helper in the name of the Holy Spirit. It is impossible to follow God without the Holy Spirit, He takes the first step by convicting us of our sins. If it were not for the Holy Spirit of God convicting us, then our world would be full of unimaginable sins, not that there is no sin, there is! but with the help of the Holy Spirit some of the things are ‘controlled.’ There were times we’ve all wanted to do something bad, but we felt that inner voice telling us not to, something held you back and that “something” was the HOLY SPIRIT of God. The Holy Spirit quenches us, gives us strength to push forward and gives us the umf. The Spirit of God is our water, without whom, we cannot survive trials, without Him, we cannot do with our own human strength. Just like water cushions our joints, soft tissues and helps in digestion and absorption of foods, the Holy Spirit gives us spiritual nourishment, helps us in absorption and digestion of the Word of God. He makes us understand the deep things of God, He is what we need in our everyday life.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through or even what you are going through, give Jesus a chance in your life, allow Him to come in and make the necessary adjustments in your life; because there will be adjustments, there will be letting go of somethings, of which some, will be painful. There will be hard lessons learnt, but one thing that is guaranteed is this, you will come out a different person, you will come out shining, you will come out victorious, why? because you allowed the King of the world to change you into a better person than who you were in the first place.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice and open the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me; the Amplified version uses the word ‘restore’ instead of dine. Jesus will restore us back to Him, the minute we allow Him to get into our hearts, the minute we allow Him to come in. No one can come into your house without permission except thieves, and even when they come, they ‘break in’ and not ‘come in.’ Therefore anyone who comes into our homes, has being allowed by us, they will come and dine with us, have a drink, have a word and because we have allowed them in, they will give us suggestions on how we can make our homes better, or where we can buy better curtains and so much more, however, it will be upon us to decide if we will take up the advice or not. The same thing applies with Jesus, once He’s in, doesn’t mean that He will make changes without your approval, no! We have to allow Him to have full and absolute control to make the necessary changes and if we hesitate or doubt of the outcome, then we will stay in that situation without any breakthrough simply because we never allowed Him to Work in us.

Heavenly Father, today I give you total surrender over my life, may you make all the necessary adjustments and changes over my life that will make me become a better person in your eyes. Lord let your will and only your will be established in my life. I pray that this will be a prayer that all of us will make to give God the Power in our lives! Amen
