TBT – Jesus Miracles and Ministry

Now, you’ve never seen a more organised person more than Jesus, I mean He’s one guy that paid attention to detail. Jesus came unto this earth to do His Father’s Will over mankind. When He was old enough, He didn’t just start, no! Like any good and successful business empire and or organisation, He prepared Himself for the task ahead. He was baptised and after baptism, the Holy Spirit came upon Him in the form of a dove, signifying that He’s the One, God’s only Son chosen and appointed to do the will of our Father in Heaven. After baptism, full of the Holy Spirit, He goes to the desert whereby He fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, tempted by the devil, but still came out victorious. Signifying to us that, just as He was tempted and overcame, so we will be tempted, and yes we can over come. After refusing all the plans of the devil, He goes out and looks for His special crew; people who would walk with Him, stand with Him as He gets into ministry.

After Jesus is all set to start ministry, He goes for a wedding and changes water into wine, no kidding! You’d expect Him to have a huge seminar whereby He would heal the sick or even raise the dead to make a grand statement to the crowd! But no, Jesus attends a wedding, the wine gets finished and His earthly mother asks Him to help out, but Jesus said “Dear woman, why do you involve me? my time has not yet come.” John 2:4 But Mary instructed the servants to do whatever He will tell them to do and because Jesus being the good person that He is, even if His time had not yet come, He still obeyed her and asked the servants to fill the jars with water and take to the master of the banquet. When Jesus did this, He revealed His Glory and His disciples put their faith in Him.

What do we learn from this little bit of the life of Jesus? As a Christian, we need to be filled by the Holy Spirit of God. When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, He gives us power; Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” Jesus is calling on all of us to be His witnesses all over the world, the fact that He mentions Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, doesn’t necessarily mean that these are the only places that need witnessing. Your Jerusalem can be where you live, your Judea and Samaria can be your surrounding areas, question is what are we doing about evangelising? Do you share the word of God? Does your next door neighbour even know if your saved or not? We need to be filled with the Spirit of Truth and Spirit of Power.

We will be tempted, that is 100% guaranteed you will not escape it but just as Jesus overcame the devil, so we can and we shall. We need to have our very own circle of friends, people who will stand with you, believe in you and support you in everything that you do, people who will keep it 100% and be real truthful friends.

If you look at the life of Jesus, there is something to learn everyday, even scholars, theologians, pastors, evangelists who have read the Bible over and over again, will still find something new to learn about Jesus. You will still find a passage that you read a while back and when you read it again, you understood something else from what your reading now.Thats the Word of God, alive and active in our lives.

Find time and read the word of God, find time and pray to God and not just prayer when you go to sleep or when your eating, but alone time with God and get to know Him. I knew Him from years back, but the way I know Him today, is not how I knew him before! It gets better and better!
