I will follow Christ

You are my God whatever the cost?
The apostles died as martyrs, meaning, they were willing to give up their lives for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. These guys made it their business to make Christ known, they went to places where the people didn’t like them, but that didn’t matter, they were beaten, stoned to death, crucified to death, yet still, they did not at any time say they were ready to get back their lives for the sake of the gospel no! They all died differently, in those days when something happened, it spread like wild fire and so am sure Matthew might have been preaching, when he heard that James had being killed, but still that didn’t make him stop, infact that gave them the fuel to push even further. Their persecutions, their pains, made them push even harder to spread the gospel, they went into many nations, foreign language was a never a barrier.

We go through trials and persecutions, but some people give up along the way, it was too hard for them, and so they opt the easy way out. I personally see that even as our world has changed and keeps changing everyday, the devil is also finding new ways to make God’s people forsake their ways. Some of us are still in the same place we were when we got saved, some of us are afraid of being filled with the Holy Spirit, and for that, you don’t grow spiritually, no developments, now tell me the devil won’t try to make you fall? After all, he see’s that no effort and no growth has taken place, and so for him, your an easy target. There is a difference however, when its a person who has grown spiritually, who prays everyday, I mean, you are a person who the enemy fears, because you shake his kingdom by your prayers, you defeat his plans when you pray to God.

The same when it comes to relationships, men like easy targets, (hit it, then leave it) but they will not make the easy target their wife. Men like the chase, and being told no by the woman, so that by the time you actually say yes to him, he would have “worked hard,” to get you. Now when it comes to kingdom things, when you resist and keep resisting the devil until he flees from you, he realises that he will never get you to denounce your religion, he will never get you to denounce your faith, and so next he thinks of another plan. He plans sickness, diseases, anything and everything that will make you loose your faith, but when he sees, this too means nothing, he will leave you. The Bible says “no temptation has ceased you, except what is common to man, and God is Faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1Corinthians 10:13

Nothing is new under the sun, the temptations that we are facing, have already being faced by many others and they have overcome, that said, we shall also over come why? Because in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us Romans 8:37. Jesus loved us and that is why He died on the cross that we might live a life of freedom through Him, however, most of us do not know our identity in Christ, we don’t know who we are, we don’t know the power we posses in Him, and that is why the enemy keeps playing tricks on us.

We need to stand up for Christ, stand firm when the the storms in our lives come charging, why? Because our God never left our sight, not for one minute, Where you couldn’t walk anymore, He literally carried you through, it was not by your power but by His power that, that which was meant to kill you, did not kill you. What God does for us spiritually is so great! He keeps fighting for us battles that we don’t see, for our welfare is not carnal, before He allowed that which your going through now to come, it is because He already saw that you won it in Him. Yet here you are mopping and weeping yourself to sleep, feeling pity on yourself and even asking God why He has forsaken you. He never left, he’s not about to leave, He will be with you until the very end.

Will you endure until the very end? or will you give up. Will you be like the apostles, who said, no matter the cost, I will follow Christ? I don’t know about you, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. And in the words of Clay Crosse as he sung, “I will follow Christ, I will run the race, fighting the good fight, standing on my faith, I will wear the name of Jesus, I will give Him all my life, as for me no matter what the sacrifice, I will follow Christ.” Let this be the same for you, no matter what the sacrifice, follow Christ, and the rewards that are awaiting you, cannot be compared to anything here on earth!

Blessings!!
