Endurance

The rich are born in wealthy or royal families, they have all the money in the world to buy them anything that money could ever buy them, but still, they suffer, with other issues like sickness. All their money couldn’t save them, all their money couldn’t make them better, even the best doctor in the world couldn’t find a cure for them. While on the flip side of it, someone somewhere is born from the poorest of families, sleeps on the cold floor, doesn’t get sick, but they so poor that words cannot describe it, and they struggle throughout their lives. For them it has been a case of moving from one struggle to the other, nothing seems to move smoothly for them.

We have all had issues in our lives, I don’t think there is anyone who can proudly stand and declare that they have never had to endure any situation or circumstance in their lives. For me to endure is to ‘stand firm under pressure,’ and trust me there are so many pressures in this life, some of which seem as if God has left us and gone off for a party or is attending to the needs of all the others and yours has been left pending/unattended. We have all questioned God at one point or another of our lives, we have asked questions we didn’t have answers, and at some point, the thought of giving up, did come up. When all this was happening, did you stand firm under pressure? did you still trust Him when you lost your loved one? Did you think He exists anymore when you were chased outside your house and you had to sleep outside in the cold, your children crying themselves to sleep, no food, no water.

All our issues are different, and there is no single day that all our needs will be the same, never! My need for financial breakthrough, might be someone else’s need for a wife, or a husband. When your out there looking for school fees of 10,000 Shillings ($100), someone somewhere is asking if they can get that kind of cash so that they can take their child to hospital, such is life! When we got saved, God didn’t give us a written confirmation that we will never get hardships, no He didn’t, infact what He said is found in John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” What Jesus is trying to tell us here is that, we will need to endure, we will need to persevere, but we need to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. When we are IN HIM, even when everything around us seems to be in chaos, we will still be okay, why? He gives beauty for ashes, He renews our strength, and better still He fights for us. 2Corinthians 10:4 “for the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds”. All that we have to do is dial J-E-S-U-S and we are saved.

Casting crows sang, “So when your on your knees and answers seem so far away, your not alone, stop holding on and just be held. Your worlds not falling apart, its falling into place, I’m on the Throne, stop holding on and just be held”. Complete letting go and trusting God has been a struggle for most people, we are afraid of the ‘what if’s,’ we are afraid of trusting Him completely and so we don’t let go and so, we dwell in our situations and or circumstances. Endure, stand firm under pressure, our God who is faithful and true will reward us with the Crown of Life, and that my friends is the best reward that one can ever attain. Forget your Degrees, forget your Masters and PHD’s the crown of LIFE is what we need to work hard to attain, this is the ONLY greatest achievement that we need to get, everything else is VANITY.
