More than conquerors!!

My friend has two boys who go to the same school, and an organisation is planning a walk, and so they were asked to take forms so that they could raise money. The elder one comes home excited telling the mother what they were told in school, and he was excited about raising the money, since its an organisation that the mother works for. She looked on as her two sons both had different reactions, and she asked the younger one, if he will take the form and raise the money, and in a normal tone he just said “no!” At this point the mother’s jaw is wide opened wondering why her son wouldn’t want to support her. So the elder son asked his brother, why he didn’t want to support his own mother, and he goes like, “even if I don’t take the form to raise the money, my mother will still give me the walk t-shirt.” I think you can imagine how her face turned next, and she was left speechless! So the mum goes like, and if I don’t give you? he replies in a casual manner that he will take money from his savings and ask his mum to top it up! now that is what I call Faith! This child has his faith in his mum and believes that mother dearest will always have his back! mother dearest will come through for him.

As my friend was telling me this story, I could relate this with how we are with Jesus. Many times when we ask God for something, sometime, there is a certain level of not leaving the situation completely to God to deal with it, and you find, we worry too much and we let our worries consume us. When we let worries consume us, then we stop believing in God and all we ever see, is that God has taken long in answering our prayers. This young boy called Philip blessed me because, he knows his mother can give him the cash required to get the t-shirt for the walk, so why should he struggle? Thats the kind of attitude that we need to have when we come before God! Jesus conquered it all, and so we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us Romans 8:37. Though the devil uses a tool, that makes us not know who we are in Christ Jesus and that is FEAR. When fear comes in, then faith gets out the window, when fear creeps in, trust cannot be seen anywhere around us. Fear is crippling and it makes us not take our authority as children of God.

Therefore, just as Philip knew that his mother would provide for him no matter what, may we remember that we have a God in Heaven who conquered everything for us. He tore the veil, He made a way, when He said that it is done! and because He conquered everything, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus our Lord. Where there is fear, replace it with love, because perfect love casts out all fear 1John 4:18, having an attitude that states, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13. Even when the road ahead of you seems impassable, He will make a way where there seems to be no way! Thats the kind of God that we serve, a God of possibilities, a God who works wonders beyond our Galaxy! And everywhere or every door that the enemy has closed, Our God will open it, because He is Able, He is on the Throne, and as long as He is on the Throne (and he ain’t leaving the throne anytime soon) then everything will be okay! And when all you have is just but a little faith, just like Phillip had a few savings and he wanted his mum to top it up, take your little faith to Jesus, it only takes belief to make the mountains move in your life!

Today and always, may we know that God is gonna do it for us, and so we don’t need to stress anymore!! Give God your faith, let Him do the rest!

Blessings!!
