The Bible is the best selling book of all times, the amount of wisdom, caution, blessing it carries in it, is just amazing. I came across the following passage and it blessed me. James1:23-24 anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says, is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror and after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. Ain’t those powerful words?
Truth is, we always look at ourselves in the mirror, men and women all included. We look to see how we look, if what we have put on is nice, if the shoes are matching, if the make up is right, if the hair is okay. The mirror is a reflection of how we look, no one applies make up without looking into the mirror to see how they look? And if they do, they may think they have applied it well, only for it to be like a horror movie.
In the same way that we look at the mirror to look at our mortal selves, so should we use the Bible to be our mirrors. To apply the principles of the word, and so that the Word of God may be manifested in your life and everyone can see it. When people look at you they should see Jesus, when they see your works and deeds they should see Jesus. Let Jesus be seen in every area of your life.
If Jesus ain’t in your life, then your looking into your life, and immediately forgetting how you look.
