I loved science and still do, yes I did; don’t roll your eyes now! I know some people be like, ‘out of all subjects, you had to love science’? yes I did. One of the reasons why I loved science was because it had so many myths of how the human race came into existence, big bang theory, evolution theory leading to the modern humans (Homo Sapiens). The evolution theory teaches that we evolved from apes, I mean common! even now when I tell my 6 year old that we “apparently evolved from apes, he asks me, “then why aren’t the apes becoming human?” if it doesn’t make any sense to a 6 year old, then its questionable, but then again thats just me, I know there are millions of people who believe in this theory. Then there is the ‘Big Bang Theory’ not the TV comedy series, this theory states that about 13.7 billion years ago all the matter in the universe was concentrated into a single incredibly tiny point, this began to enlarge rapidly in a hot explosion and ‘voila’ the earth took form, I mean like seriously? well I hate to burst your bubble, but all these theories are just wrong period!
Enough with theories of how we came into existence, let me go back to why I loved science in the first place. Science talked about life, living things, living organisms; so what is an organism in the first place? Its an individual form of life and examples are, bacteria, fungus, plant or animal composed of a single cell or a complex of cells in which organs work together to carry out the various processes of life. Well, thats the complexity and also the beauty of science, cells, organs, micro organisms! A plant absorbs water and inorganic substances through its roots, synthesizing nutrients in its leaves by photosynthesis, using the green pigment chlorophyll. Just a small plant that we’d look at and think, nothing goes on with it, but there is. Without water, this plant will starve, then eventually die, why? because it lacks the very nutrients for it to grow.

Humans don’t do photosynthesis, nor do we have the green chlorophyll, heck we don’t even have four stomachs like cows they have the Rumen, Reticulum, Omasum and abomasum! I told you my science is still good. Anyways, what am I saying, humans are not anywhere close to plants, animals, we are special because God created us that way. Inside our bodies, millions and millions of veins, cells, blood run through and every single aspect of it is aligned to its purpose and work. Our brains sending messages to our bodies, informing us when there is pain, pleasure, laughter every single aspect inside of us has being pre programmed to work in a certain way and work together with another. So where am I headed with this? Every morning that we wake up, is a gift from God, its His very own breadth of life that lives in us, unfortunately we don’t look at it this way.
What therefore is life? not just life but the breadth of life? Genesis 2:7 puts this all too well, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Check this, without the breadth of God, we are NOTHING. We were made by dust, and unto dust we shall return! His Breadth is what makes us alive, and that is the truth whether we like it or not. Some have walked with us and have left us, people we loved and cared for, but their time came and the one who holds our lives took them. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:27 “And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Thats the story of our lives, God put us here on earth, for a season and for a purpose, are we living out His purpose for us? or are we thinking we have so much time on our hands.
Unfortunately many people and especially the young, are thinking to themselves that they are young and have the world at their disposal. Yes everything is at your disposal, but how you live your life will determine where you will spend eternity. Well I don’t believe that ‘eternity stuff,’ some will say, well my dear, let me tell you this, whether you believe it or not, God has already planned that after death, there is judgment to know where we will spend eternity. If you choose Jesus, then you will live forever with Him in paradise, worshiping Him, get to see the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Get to see all the prophets you read in the Bible, father Abraham, Apostle Paul, King David himself, I mean Heaven will be beautiful. But on the flip side of it, you can choose to ignore this God who loves you, think to yourself that you evolved or banged from some ‘planet’ and before you know it, your time comes and you can’t breath anymore. What you thought was a right to you, is no longer a right, but was a privilege.
Therefore, dearly beloved, the truth is this; you didn’t evolve, your world didn’t bang from I don’t know where! The world where we live was created by God, we were formed by God, for Him and by Him. Today, as His breadth lives in your veins and flows through you, be grateful, give your life to Him and live FOR HIM. No one knows when He cometh, but He will come, let Him find you ready.
