Yesterday I was having a conversation with my two sons and they asked me a question, that for a moment I wondered what they were thinking in their heads. “Mum,” and am like “yes,” How can God be 3 in 1, I just don’t get it? In school we are taught of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit?” So I answer, “it’s called the Trinity!” But he goes on, “I know mum, I know, we’ve even being taught in Sunday School, but I just don’t get it! How can one person have 3 people inside them mum?”
Now, here is a child who is inquisitive and will not take no for an answer! He needs his explanation. To be honest, I went blank! Not because I didn’t have an answer, but because I was wondering how best I would break it down and explain to his own level. But who is like the Lord, at that moment, He gave me the best answer.
I told my son to stand up, and I asked him what his body was made of? And he just answered, dust! Heheheh!! Yeah that’s my comedian right there! Am like yes, we are made of dust, but what is the dust composed of? what do you see? Then he goes, “outside is my flesh,” “yes that’s correct,” and I asked him, “what of the inside? What else makes up your body?” Then he answered, “my bones and my soul!” “Perfect! I said!”Then I asked him, “can your body be all flesh without bones?” And he goes “no! I won’t be able to stand?” “What if you had flesh and bones but didn’t have the soul/spirit? Would you even move?” And he said “no mum!” “The same way that our bodies are made up of flesh, bones and soul is the exact same way that The Holy Trinity operates. You cannot remove one from the other, you cannot work with only one and leave the other. They come together as a package! none is left behind”, and with that my son totally understood what the Holy Trinity actually means. We cannot walk without our bones, we cannot be flesh alone, and our souls cannot be walking around without our bodies, in the same way, we need the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit of God in our everyday walk!!

Many times when we get into trials and temptations, we like to ‘assume’ that God has forgotten us, God doesn’t care about us, yet the Bible clearly tells us that “absolutely no temptation has seized us,” to seize means to capture/take hold of, forcefully! When temptations come into our lives, they are there temporarily, not permanent! meaning, they will end, they will go and joy will come in the morning! Question is how do we handle them? When God allows things into our lives, it means He knows that we are strong enough to endure to the very end! and better still, He knows that we will come out victorious and shinning brighter than when we got into it.
We need God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit all day everyday of our lives! In the good, in the bad, when it makes sense and when it doesn’t make sense! When it is shinning and when it is freezing cold. Why? God will never leave us, so why should we leave Him?
The Holy Trinity is part of our lives! let us walk in His ways, and fear the LORD. Live by the Words of the Father, accept the Son into your life, and produce the fruits of the Holy Spirit!!
