So yesterday am stuck in town waiting for my car keys. Apparently the guy I left my car with, forgot that he had my car keys and he went home, however, he also left my car keys inside another persons car. The sad part of it all is, he couldn’t remember who it was at first, and so it was a matter of calling everyone up asking them if they could see any keys in their car. Finally after a few calls here and there, he finds the car that has my car keys, but the owner has parked his car somewhere far, and so now we had to wait for him to finish doing his shopping before he could confirm if he actually had my car keys. Am standing there thinking to myself, how I wish I could be a ‘hollywood star’ right now, they make it look so simple in the movies, why can’t I break in my own car and make it start? what is my next move? Do I leave my car in town and patiently wait for the other guy to bring the keys in the morning? But then again am scared that if I leave my car where it is, it might be broken into it and stuff stolen, tires, side mirrors etc
So am officially having a bad day! I come back to the office and just try and relax as I await confirmation for my keys. I guess we learn life’s lessons through the most tragic or the simplest situations out there. I never valued my car keys until today, I can see the car but I can’t get in nor drive it, its just there parked! Without a key you can’t open a door, you cannot open a car and you cannot start the engine of the car. Basically Keys act as an ignition and a start to something, once you put the key into the key hole, you have to turn it clockwise for it to open or for it to start. Even if you have the right keys, without you inserting where its supposed to be and then turning it to open or start, then you might just sit there without moving! that said, who has your keys? The person who has your life’s keys will need to come and start your engine, but depending on who it is, you might get the wrong keys for your type of vehicle.

So I guess, its okay that I lost my car keys yesterday, because it helped me just sit down and reflect on how Jesus works in my own life. Truth is I have seen Him at work, and He’s just the best there is out there! Most companies usually have a suggestion box where by you can write complains or compliments, and I guarantee you that once you have Jesus in your life, you will never have to fill a complaint form, all you will be doing is filling in thank you notes, and more prayer requests, as he continues to open doors in your life.
So eventually after 2 1/2 hours, I finally have my car keys, the guy I left my car with, is so apologetic, he doesn’t even know what to say, I just told him to relax, we all make mistakes, and will keep making mistakes, thats just the human nature, our bodies are prone to doing wrong, that is why Paul says in Romans 7;15-20 “I Do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do – this I keep doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.”
On my way home am excited, and so the traffic on the way really doesn’t bother me. Today remember that Jesus is the key that you’ve been missing all along, let Him come in so that He can open every door that was closed in your life.
Amen! That’s a great read Cynthia. I’m really encouraged.
