The birds will still chirp early in the morning no matter how cold it is – for them nothing has changed, their mood isn’t brought about by how the weather is. Not only for the birds, but every animal, everyday to them is a time to survive in the animal kingdom and by the end of the day, the animal that started out in the morning, might not be there in the evening. Will the rest notice? maybe maybe not, am not an expect of how things work in the animal kingdom, but at the end of the day for the animals, life moves on, there’s no funeral, there’s no sending messages of condolences to the family, it all ends with death.
On the flip side of the animal kingdom, comes man, a special species that was also created by God, the difference is that man was made in God’s own image; how cool is that! My mind takes the best of me when it comes to overthinking and imagination and one of the things that I keep asking myself is, if we’re made in the image of God, (which we are) then what skin tone is God? That’s the irrational human nature side of me, but then again am reminded that our God exists outside the time frame of everything He’s created. John gives Him a brief description in Revelation 4:3 when he writes, “The One sitting on The Throne was as brilliant as gemstones – like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled His Throne like a rainbow.” This description not only excites me, but leaves a feeling of wanting to know more and more and more. This also answers my question, our God is not defined on human skin tones, He cannot be described in a human form – He’s more than what even our minds could think or fathom.
Genesis 1:27 “So God created human being in His own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” Meaning we are special, so special! I don’t know 🤔 if we realize just how much special we are in the eyes of God our Father! Everyday life for man is so much different from the animal kingdom, they don’t eat grass, they don’t chase worms and they certainly don’t eat other human beings to survive! Am imagining watching Nat Geo wild with its show dubbed ‘animal showdown’ and instead of lions chasing gazelles, it’s man chasing another man to eat them! Huh? Thank God for keeping us sane right?
Why then are we not grateful, appreciative of life? why do we get angry at God when things don’t go as we wanted them to? why don’t we just appreciate what we have and what He’s given us? after all everything belongs to Him right? even we belong to Him, that’s why only He knows when our time to go comes, we don’t! However, as human beings we act as if we have an entitlement into the shares of life, like we signed a partnership agreement with God 50/50, or we created the earth with Him and so we feel entitled onto everything that happens in life – and that He owes us an explanation to everything, Error! God doesn’t owe you or me or anyone else an explanation! He won’t write you an email or send a text message listing what you will face tomorrow! Or better yet send a picture emoji of tomorrow’s weather forecast! He’s God! He’s supreme! He’s the creator and we are His creations – since when did the clay ask what it was to be made into by the potter? (Romans 9:20-21)That said, all of us need to appreciate life and all that it brings and be grateful to God!
John Maxwell in his book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth, gives The Law of the Rubber Band as the 10th law, which states, “growth stops when you loose the tension between where you are to where you could be.” Life begins at the end of our comfort zone, and just like the rubber band which has to be stretched for it to be effective and hold things together, we too as human beings need to be stretched for us to be effective, if not, we will not accomplish the purpose we are here for! How can I be grateful when life has given me lemons? make lemonade!
One of the questions that we will never really grasp a good answer is this “why do bad things happen to good people?” Am not a theologian nor a theologist but one of the things that I have come to learn with hardships is that they build my character! How can death build your character you might ask? Death is as a result of sin that came in through the first Adam! A result of disobedience to God, one that most of us will go through to be able to meet our Lord and Saviour. For the fortunate ones, who will not face death, when our Lord comes, with the voice of the archangel, in the twinkling of an eye, not only will their bodies be changed into immortal bodies, but they will be caught up in the skies together with the dead in Christ who will rise first and meet our Saviour in the clouds! How cool is that? My sons think we will have wings, I don’t know about that, but I sure wouldn’t mind me some powerful wings to fly me away into God’s Kingdom!

So things aren’t going as you want them to, these are the times we should draw closer to God instead of moving further away from Him. I know y’all reading – what is she on about? Do you even know any kind of pain? Looks can be deceiving, but yes I have passed through my own share of pain and loss! Depression! Feelings of worthlessness and wondering if life was really worth it! But God…. He’s taught me to look at my value through His eyes and not through anybody’s else’s. Most of us look for approval from people and that is where we go wrong. We give so much power unto others, that what they say becomes gospel truth and when crushing times come, we fall flat foot with no where to hold on to. However, when we have Jesus in our lives, He’s the one who strengthens us and cushions us when crushing times come our way! Yes we might fall, but He’s loving arms are right there to catch us when we fall so that we don’t hit our heads on the ground and go nuts. Jesus keeps you sane – like literally!
Life is special and God put us here on earth for a time and season. When your time comes to leave this earth, where will you go? Do you know the destiny of your soul? There’s only two ways really, alive in Christ and death in the devil. The interesting bit here is, death is camouflaged with pomp and color here on earth, while life is camouflaged as boring! While in the real sense, what looks like boring leads to life and what looks like pomp leads to death!
I really don’t understand why people term the gospel as boring and old! Like seriously? The gospel of Jesus Christ is the most interesting, life changing experience you will ever have! Every day is filled with discovery of knowing who God is, it’s like a treasure hunt that is hidden in the Bible and you will only uncover when you dig deep into God’s Word.
Pick up your Bible today and go on a hunt to find out who God is, what He’s all about, He’s amazing power! Like this guy parted the Red Sea and made water come out of a rock! If that’s not enough He speaks through burning bushes in the form of fire 🔥 and to crown it all He gives people the ability to speak in strange languages as His Holy Spirit gives them utterance, and last but certainly not the least, He raises people from the dead. I don’t know about you but am excited about this God! One who never changes, but one who loves me and is all merciful and Powerful! One who changes my situation and “crowns me a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair,” Isaiah 61:3
Today if you hear His voice, harden not your heart.
Blessings!!
